School Snow Day = Sledding Fun

You wake up on Monday morning and while you were sleeping 6 inches of fresh powder  fell from the sky. SNOWDAY!!! What are you going to do though? Instead of watching Netflix for 4 hours, why don’t you go sledding? Sledding is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy nature. You can bring all of your friends with you. You can make a day out of it and bring food and hot chocolate . The best part about sledding is the long walk up the hill and your reward of  sliding down the hill, the wind in your hair and the smile on your face. The key to a good sledding day is to find the perfect hill.

Thankfully Michigan is perfect for sledding. Some of the well known tubing/sledding hills are Hanson Hills Recreation area in Grayling ,Michigan. Feeling adventurous try extreme tubing at Treetops resort in Gaylord, Michigan. These are just 2 of Michigan’s  tubing/sledding destinations. To find more sledding/tubing destinations closer to you go to Pure Michigan’s website or go on a car ride and look for the perfect hill.

My best snow days were spent sledding down the road from my house.  The long trek up the hill is definetly worth the exciting and sometimes scary ride down the hill. Next time you have a snow day I hope you make time to go sledding. You will not regret getting outdoors and having an amazing time in the snow.
